Pratyay Raha is a sonic arts practitioner and researcher whose work explores the relationships between sound, place, human and more-than-human life. Through field recordings, critical listening, and site-responsive practice, he investigates questions of sonic violence and acoustic resilience within fragile and contested environments. His immersive works approach listening as both an artistic methodology and a political act, inviting audiences to engage with the interconnected agencies of people, ecologies, and place.

He holds an MA in Composition and Creative Music Practice from the University of Limerick, Ireland, where he studied with Eoin Callery and Óscar Mascareñas. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Fine Art at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, working with Philip Samartzis and Michael Graeve. His work has been showcased through presentations and Artist-in-Residence programs at renowned institutions such as the Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Germany), Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology (Switzerland), Srishti Manipal Institute for Art, Design(India), Indian Sonic Research Organisation (India), Forecast (Germany), Rosalux (Germany), Bogong Centre for Sound Culture (Australia), Braunschweig (Germany), Liquid Architecture X Blindside Gallery (Australia), Composite Moving Image (Australia), RMIT University (Australia), University of Sunshine Coast (Australia) and University of Melbourne (Australia).
